We carry both gas and diesel, but I always ask about their application and miles per month they will be putting on the truck. Facts are, gas trucks are an excellent fit in most applications. Everybody wants to talk about the increase in MPG on a diesel vs gas, and they are right. What they don't talk about are the hidden costs. Replacement of a diesel engine is twice what a gas engine will cost. Same with transmissions (especially on imports). Injectors on a power stroke diesel or Duramax diesel can be 4-6k. Injector pumps on imports are $3000. There are many more examples and in case you wondered, this is an important issue with me.<br /><br />I have been in the commercial truck industry for 23 years and have done gas vs diesel analysis as well as lease vs buy.
